Small watch with a big story!!

This 1945 Bulova US army watch was issued to the US Army during, and after WW2. This particular model is from 1945, so has probably been through the end of the second world war.

The watches were intended for use by the non-aviation personnel of the US army. They were available in both black and white dials, depending on the year of manufacturing. Before 1950, Bulova marked their watches with symbols to indicate the age of the movement/watch. As you can see on the pictures of the movement, this one is marked with a triangle, which refers to the year 1945.

The crowns on military watches are usually a bit bigger then normal, like you can see on this watch. The reason for this has to do with the soldiers wearing gloves most of the time. So it could be easily wound and set, even with gloves.

The overall condition of the watch is great. It runs very smooth, and keeps time very well! It has recently been serviced, as can be seen in the pictures. The movement is very clean!
